PRELIMINARY AND DETAILED STUDIES OF BOQAATA DAM

- RCC dam of maximum height 68m; volume 6 Million m3.
- Spillway with free sill (entrance) located on the axis of the dam, with stair steps for energy dissipation.
- The intake is a tower tied up to the RCC dam equipped with multilevel openings and connected to a metallic pipe of 600mm diameter in the diversion tunnel.
- Bituminous waterproof cover, covering the limestone on the upstream of the dam until the volcanic formations.
The studies include :
- Preliminary study (APS)
- Detailed study (APD)
- Hydrological, geological and geotechnical studies.
- Geological and geotechnical investigations (borehole, sump pits, trenches, …).
- Geophysical investigation of the lake's underground.
- Water management of the lake and study of the needs for water.
- Tender documents.
- Expropriation files.
